My name is Dave Young, the founder of Arma Training, US Fighting Systems and Your Family Defense – and a director at the Vistelar Group.
As a father of six children, I know what it’s like to deal with bullying. I’ve seen first hand the effects it can have on kids and that’s why I’ve developed these tips, which come from years of experience with not only my own kids, but as a law enforcement officer and someone who has helped develop an extensive anti-bullying program.
From these experiences, I know that many of the so-called anti-bully experts really have no idea what they’re talking about.
The reality is that most of the advice you hear comes from theories. An “expert” makes something up that sounds good and it gets adopted as the truth — even though it has never been tested in the real world.
In contrast, I have seen and tested what works and what doesn’t work as far as anti-bullying – on the streets and in schools where it counts.
So I decided to develop an ongoing series of Anti-Bullying Tips and put up this page so people could access them from one place.
