  17. Someone Approaching Your ChildIn the 70’s-80’s it was referred to as “Stranger Danger,” but unfortunately parents have seemed to want to make their children polite and kind to EVERYONE. Violence With Family in the MallWith high unemployment, children being raised by the television they watch and social technology allowing people to communicate with a picture they see rather than the person, our safety concerns have taken on a whole new dynamic. I will teach you the facts about violence in the mall, shootings, robberies, and assaults, how they take place and what you can do to prevent and respond to them, increasing the your safety and the protection of your family.
  19. Violence With Family in the Parking LotViolence does not have a specific place or venue, it happens when you least expect it. You can be alone, with your family or even walking to your car in the parking lot. Each environment you are in presents different dangers and safe havens. Remember your safety demands you taking an active role in your own survival!
  20. Walking to Your CarAccording to the Uniform Crime Report published by the FBI, statistics from the National Census Bureau, and even local newspapers, people are being attacked while doing the most mundane activities such as walking to your car. Many times people operate in a tunnel or plastic bubble, meaning they are only focused on what is in front of them with no anticipation of possible events or obstacles, just what they are doing and seeing. I will teach you strategies and tips to increase your safety in these situations and how you can walk to your own car safer and possibly prevent or identify an attack before it happens.
  21. Defense from Purse SnatchersThe feelings and emotions that go through one’s mind after having their identification stolen are overwhelming for many. Their personal belongings are gone, their money taken, credit cards in the hands of a person they do not know, their identity has been compromised and the address of their home exposed. It is a nightmare that has just begun. I will teach you how these events unfold and the distractions used to get your personal belongings from you and what strategies and tactics you can use to prevent and counter these tactics used by criminals.
  22. Strategies for Answering the PhonePersonal intelligence gathering is an art. The amount of information one gives when answering the phone is in many times WAY to much information to be giving to an unknown person. In an effort to be nice we compromise our own safety. I will share with you the tricks and tactics people use to get this information from you and strategies on what you can do to identify and counter these techniques.
  23. Conducting A Property WalkConducting regular walks around your property will help you maintain a positive level of safety and give you intelligence of possible intruders that have been on your property. 24. Answering the Door When Home AloneA home invasions can happen to anyone and they usually start with a knock on the front door.  It might just be friendly hello from a neighbor, or a child down the street selling boxes of chocolates, or it could be something much more serious. How you answer the door can set the pretense for a friendly chat or the start of a possible attack. I will share with you tricks that criminal use to gather information, gauge your comfort zone and what strategies you can use to keep you and your family safe!
  25. Allowing Service Workers to Enter Your HomeYou have called to get your telephone, plumbing, television or air conditioner fixed. You will have people in your home while you are either alone or with your children that you do not know. Many companies do not screen employees for criminal records, and if they do, it is not a guarantee that they are good and safe people. I will teach you how to increase and maintain your safety and what strategies you can use to help keep you safe.
  26. Confirming IdentityYou hear a knock at your door, you look through the peek hole, and you see a man standing there in a brown shirt smiling saying the famous words UPS. You open the door and realize the only brown clothing they were wearing was a shirt – his pants were blue jeans and he is holding a clip board with one hand and a weapon in the other. I will share with you the tricks and ruses criminals use and what strategies you have that can counter their techniques and increase your safety to help you confirm their identity.
